The Cuban born New Yorker Lorenzo Ramos has been designing Cubavera for 8 years. Lorenzo attended Parsons School of Design in New York. He was an assistant designer at Kenneth Cole and an entrepreneur owning his own company Verge Clothing, prior to designing Cubavera.

The inspiration for the line is influenced by a variety of themes and experiences, heritage, music, and a tropical lifestyle. These ideas are then accentuated by the art deco designs of South Beach. The clothes are comfortable and easy to care for, giving them the relaxed casual elegance, which are the foundations of the brand.
